After receiving a bachelor’s degree in physics, Dr. Shane Wurdeman entered the profession of O&P as a technician and earned a master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics. After working as a prosthetist/orthotist, he went back to school for his Ph.D in biomechanics. He has published numerous studies in peer-reviewed journals, presented over 50 abstracts at various national conferences, published several book chapters in prosthetics and biomechanics, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. In addition to his research work, he continues to see patients.
